Full Canvas
The first element and foundation of the suit is the full canvas. Every Westwood Hart jacket features this special internal construction - a signature of workmanship and quality. This unseen element is crucial and sets our suit apart from others.
Full Canvas suits are constructed with a layer of horsehair canvas under a wool fabric shell. Though attached, it is stitched to allow motion and flow with your every movement. The canvas holds the shape of your suit keeping it from sagging or deforming. The canvas is cut to the jacket’s shape and the wool is stitched to it. Over time, the canvas moulds and adapts to your body and its contours, forming a faultless fit. Longevity is achieved through disturbing tension at stress points allowing your suit breathe and you to move freely.
Form & Function
Precise engineering is incorporated into every aspect of the suit so that it performs in both form & function – a central ethos of our design. For a clean, refined appearance, the lapel is expertly stitched to fall impeccably while the shoulder seam is hand-stitched for a perfect finish. Even the tiniest details are addressed - the inside seam of the trouser pockets, for example, is specially sewn, so that it is invisible.
This same attention is given to guarantee ultimate comfort. The suits have been created in three fits - classic, tailored & slim - so no matter what your body type, there is a suit for you. Each design has been optimised with features to further enhance its feel. The waistband is made longer to overlap at the fastening and a V-shaped cutout at the back for a perfect fit.

Impeccable Tailoring
Cut according to precise individual measurements from head to toe, each fully canvassed suit is expertly constructed from 200 individual pieces. Lightweight fabrics and the natural stretch of a camel and horsehair chest canvas ensure a balance of suppleness and structure.
Westwood Hart stands for sartorial perfection, with every element individually defined. Crafted from Irish linen and cashmere, the undercollar is stitched by hand to ensure an impeccable shape, while jacket, sleeve and waistband linings are as vital as the main cloth of the suit, each chosen to perfectly complement the rest of the look.
Every seam, stitch and fold has been carefully considered. The interior lining is engineered to be completely clean and unbroken; the armhole is hand-stitched underneath for movement and softness; a cutout and pleats at the back waist enhance comfort, and AMF stitching establishes stability at points of pressure and guarantees pockets sit perfectly flat.
Premium Fabrics
The range of fabrics includes options from prestigious mills such as Zegna, Dormeuil, and Scabal collections, as well as our extensive collection of in-house fabrics. Imported from England and Italy, we boastfully offer over 1,000 cloth selections to choose from.
Beautiful Buttons
Buttons include natural horn, mother-of-pearl, or corozo nut buttons. Since these buttons originate from nature, they offer durability and a richness of color and texture that are unmatched by man-made materials.
Luxurious Linings
Linings are all sewn by hand with a pure silk twist thread. Standard linings are cupro, along with a myriad of fancier designs options.
Working Buttons
Working button or functional button holes can be designed as part of your suit (with our compliments). A working button hole is a sign of a high-quality suit and also that the suit is high-end. You may leave the last buttonhole undone, if you wish the world to know you are wearing a fine custom tailored suit.

Pattern Matching
Our custom suits have a clean visual appearance. Our tailors painstakingly line up the patterns to match at the seams, pockets and sleeves. This requires dedication, skill and commitment to our craft, by our skilled, trained and experienced tailors.
Accent Threads
Accent threads on the lapel and buttonholes are also offered upon request. From subtle shade differences to full contrast, the options are virtually limitless and add a polished look to the entire suit.
Cross Stitched Buttons
All buttons are attached by hand, using a cross-stitch. Cross stitching by hand makes the button attachment extra strong, so that the buttons are less likely to come off. The buttons are wound on with extra silk thread shank. This allows for movement and space for the fabric to drape in between the button and the garment. It also helps the button to pass through the buttonhole more easily.
Durable YKK Zippers
Trousers are hand finished with an authentic YKK nickel (metal) fly and hand sewn hooks and bars in the waistband. Unlike nylon closures, our zippers are highly durable and long lasting.
Extension Waistband
The waistband of our trousers have a 3-inch extension across the front with a square end, and it has a hidden hook and bar fastening. This keeps the waistband straight and gives it a clean look. Because the waistband does not close with a button, there is a French bearer—a button inside the fly—to secure the trousers.
