Our Lovely Team of Custom Suit Tailors & Artisans

A team of skilled tailors at Westwood Hart meticulously crafting a custom linen suit with careful stitching and an eye for detail.

The Foundation of Our Craft

Based on the Kowloon Peninsula in Hong Kong, Westwood Hart is a vertically integrated custom tailoring house with over five decades of experience. Our workshop was established in the late 1960s by Master Tailor Peter Lau, who trained as a pattern-making apprentice before becoming a master shifu. Today, Peter remains an active presence on the workshop floor, providing quality oversight to our team of 40+ skilled artisans and master tailors. Every garment is built using traditional ‘Shanghai-style’ tailoring: hand-sewn, full-canvas construction that molds to the wearer’s body over time.

Who We’re Right For — and Who We’re Not

Westwood Hart is built for young professionals and wedding grooms who want bespoke-grade quality at a fraction of traditional luxury retail pricing — and who are comfortable navigating a refined online process. We own our manufacturing, cut out the retail middleman, and ship worldwide.

We are not the right fit if you require in-person fittings in a physical showroom, need a garment in under two weeks, or are looking for off-the-rack convenience. For those needs, a local tailor or department store will serve you better. For everyone else who values craftsmanship, customization, and value — we’d love to make your suit.

Heritage Meets Modern Accessibility

Under the leadership of Vincent Lau, Westwood Hart has bridged old-world expertise with modern accessibility. In 2024, the company launched a new retail e-commerce platform — covered by GlobeNewswire — enabling customers worldwide to access hand-tailored garments through a fully digital experience, including virtual consultations with our tailors and a perfect fit guarantee.

World-Class Fabric Partners

We source directly from the world’s most prestigious mills: Loro Piana, Scabal, Dormeuil, Vitale Barberis Canonico, Holland & Sherry, Zegna, Guabello, E.Thomas, Filarte, Reda, Lanifico Cerruti, and Marzoni — some partnerships spanning several decades. Our library exceeds 1,000 fabric choices, from lightweight summer linens to robust winter wools, cashmeres, silks, and cotton blends. By owning our manufacturing and maintaining these direct relationships, we deliver bespoke-grade luxury without the traditional retail markup.

What You Can Customise

Nearly unlimited options await: lapel width, shoulder construction, single or double-breasted styles, vent configurations, pocket styles, 64 types of suit buttons (horn, bone, corozo, mother-of-pearl), 88 varieties of printed fancy linings, and fully bespoke linings incorporating your own images or designs. Additional trousers, waistcoats, and three-piece configurations are all available.

And yes — Buttons, our workshop dog, is still here. Every stitch is made with care. Buttons makes sure of it.
